Young Vinnies Dress as a Book Character Day

All proceeds towards the Special Needs Christmas party.  What a great group of leaders the Young Vinnies are.

ENROLMENT FOR THE SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME
At St Mary’s Catholic Church 7.00 pm, Thursday 25th October.
There will be a briefing on the Sacramental Programme, dates will be given and fees of $20.00 are required to be paid.
For children who are not baptised in Rotorua, please bring a baptismal certificate. The children are required to be 8 years old by the 1st November 2018.  Children who are not baptised or who are baptised in another Christian faith and would like to become Catholic are required to book an appointment with Fr Eamon through the Parish office to discuss options.

Loud Shirt Day

The Young Vinnies counted up all the gold coin donations at morning tea time.  We collected a total of $372.40

Young Vinnies Collection

This term, the Young Vinnies organised a collection of clothes and non perishable food for the Vincent de Paul society.  Today they came to collect the goods and it completely filled their van.  Room 6 collected most items and so they get a special mufti day next term.

Health

Look at the great sign outside Room 18.  This is how much sugar some children are eating every day!

Here we are learning about what to do if someone is having a seizure. We are working hard on our listening skills.

Welcome Back to Term 2

Mufti Day

Today the Young Vinnie leaders collected the money day mufti and organised it into the shape of a heart.  All money will be going to the schools in Matata and Whakatane who were flooded last week.

Environment Leaders - Gardening and Butterflies

The Environment Leaders have been rostered on throughout the term to feed and look after the animals behind the Senior area. Mr Bach has also been getting some of them to help in the garden to dig up potatoes, set up the worm farm and maintain the butterfly enclosures. They have been showing their leadership skills by helping several Middle School pupils from Mr Bach's class who are keen future environmentalists.

Young Vinnies

Today Reverend Ed Masters from St John's came to Room 1 to collect the disco money and to meet the Young Vinnie leaders.

World Day of Prayer

The world day of prayer is a day to celebrate children. To think about the plight of many children in under developed countries and the hardships they face. Our school sent representatives to this last Friday 3rd March. 
Our RE Leaders Janine and Augie did a great job at helping organise groups to prepare for this event.

Young Vinnies

Our new Young Vinnies group is being led by Jasmine, Queenie, Mackenzie and Jay.  We have already had a fund raising disco to support the parish of St John's.

Fabulous Fractures...

The first aiders learned what to do with a suspected fracture. We learned how to immobilize the area of concern with a cardboard splint and had a go at making an arm sling.

I am sure we all feel much safer in their capable hands:)

This year's leaders were announced at the commissioning in front of the whole school and many of our community.

Free Milk for Parents

On Friday the health team gave free samples of Fonterra milk for schools to parents.This was because we wanted to show them how nice our free milk was. It was yummy By Luke hall
